Hi

My husband was living/working in Guiyang,Guizhou China from
21 Apr - 13 Oct

Which we assumed was a few days less than 6 months (as 6 months would have been 21apr-21oct)
But, even though we assumed that, we tried obtaining a police clearance certificate as per cic's guidelines for china,
through a few friends and his work place, but they were all told its not possible, and were not given one. They didnt even give one of those letters saying we cannot issue a police cert.

So we went ahead , and submitted our application without it.hoping we wouldnt need it.

Now, I just received AOR2 a week ago from NDVO and they sent me a auto-generated emial requesting pr fee if not already submitted and police cert. if not already submitted.

This has me worried again now,
is it safe to assume he didnt stay 6 months and he won't need a police cert? will CIC look at it this way?
I have been trying again to get this police cert. but am not finding any way to do so, as I have no friends in GUiyang anymore.

What should I Do?
Does anybody have any inputs?
has anybody else from a diff. country tried obtaining a chinese police clearance?

HELP!

Once you are close to a six months stay in a country, it is entirely possible CIC may request a PCC for that country to finalize the application. We've seen plenty of instances of this on the forum.

Did CIC specifically ask for a PCC from China in their letter - or did they just mention police certificates in general?

Just in general, if not already submitted.

I know they might just ask for it! that's why i want to be ready with one, just in case...
The only way I see right now, is through these internet companies claiming they can get it for $600!! but I don't have that kind of money, and I don\t trust them either.

What should I do?

I think New Delhi Visa Office generates a auto-mail format for issuing AOR2
The e-mail had nothing specific to our application.
It said
we have received application for XXXX
this is UCI XXX file no. XXXX
Please submit right of residece fee - if not already paid
PCC for all countries with more than 6 months stay- if not already submitted

Contact us here at XXXX if you change your address etc. etc. etc.

Should my husband just write a mail to NDVO explaining how we tried, and how we have not been able to obtain PCC?

Or should we wait, and see, since maybe they might just not ask for PCC since he was a few days short of 6 months stay anyway?

CIC does not expect you to pay such companies to obtain the PCC. If you aren't able to obtain the PCC by following the official channels listed on CIC's website, then you need to document your efforts to show that you were unable to obtain one.

Until they actually ask for a PCC from China, I would not send it in. However, I would try to get one, just in case they do ask. Document your steps to get one, as suggested above. Then if you are not successful, and the visa office asks for one from China, you can prove you tried but couldn't get it. I would not pay the internet companies for this - probably a scam.
A friend of mine had to get a PCC from China a while back, and she eventually had to actually go to China for it.

yes exactly! we can't be expected to pay so much to get a PCC! and no chance that we travel to China just for this.
Unfortunately though, all our efforts were in person and all the conversations with friends etc were over the phone, so no proof to document there... :(

I guess we will try again, this time we will send in an e-mail and request our friends to send us e-mails about their efforts, and pray that nDVO doesnt ask for it!
We will also wait and not send in any mails about our efforts for PCC to NDVO until they actually ask for it specifically, hope they don't!

And I hope this is the right way to do it.
Thanks! and praying we all get our visa soon!

Hi Appievee,

Did you have luck with getting your PCC from China?

Thank you
