Dear friends, I'm still waiting for my test invite and if it comes may I ask what if I got only my expired passport to show because I decided not to renew it, what will happen, are they gonna ask me for a new passport? Thanks in advance.

freetorch You do not need to renew your old passport. My wife had her citizenship test in May and 4 weeks later took the oath and she didn't have a current passport as her old one had expired 12 months previously (about the time we applied for citizenship). The CIC officer who did the interview thought it was very reasonable for my wife to not renew her old passport as she was so close to getting a Canadian one.

Thanks, please let me know if your status change tomorrow. CIC agents are not providing any update, claiming that the online system is now very accurate and there is no other way to find out if the letter has been sent or not. My only worry is that now how anyone know about their oath if the letter is lost in the mail.

Just checked a minute ago - status is unchanged :(

Can anyone please provide details about the questions asked by the CIC officer prior and after the test. Thx

In our case we were just asked to produce the requested documents then a quick comment about my wife's expired passport (not a problem) and my job and that was it. We weren't really asked any questions at all.

Thanks. So CIC despite all their claims is not updating the status.

Thx paw339. It seems they ask everyone about their work status. well i was recently laid off n m currently unemployed not sure if that will look bad on the file.

Calgary office sending tests for 2014 applicants now, does it take a year in Calgary to get the test invite? I notice in other provinces test invites are coming within 6 Months. Is there anyone here 2015 applicant got test invite?

Does anyone knows Calgary office fax, email or phone number. ????

I hardly see Oath invitations for Calgary (at least in here) in the past few weeks. The process at Calgary is very frustrating
