I need help/guidance in my current OINP application. I have applied for nomination under OINP Employer job offer : Foreign Worker stream, on January 17th, 2024 (Date of submitting application).

However, since then there is updates as of now. Today is 9th of May, and the status still showing submitted. I tried calling OINP office but all they answered is "We will let our officer know that you are waiting for your outcome of application."

I am worried now, because my current work permit is going to expire in next 45 days. Should I contact our local MP for help, to expedite the application, so that once I receive my nomination I can apply for work permit extension?

OR

What are the other ways you all suggest? please help. All your answers would be a great help. Thank you so much all,

There is no timeline for the nomination. In this scenario, I don’t believe an MP push can make a difference. The process from ITA to nomination can take several months as there is no defined timeline. Once your case is selected, the case status will change from ‘Submitted’ to ‘Decision in Progress.’ After it reaches ‘Decision in Progress,’ it may still take several days or months. Apologies for the vague reply.

Thanks for your reply Vikas, I understand that there is no timeline.

However, are there any ways through which I can apply for work permit extension? I really can't afford not continuing my job, if my work permit expires.

your situation was the same as mine! I needed to renew, in my case the lmia but 2 days before submitting the application the response from oinp arrived! in total it was 148 days so I suggest you renew yes

You mean renew work permit? IF yes, what is the procedure?

You either need a approved LMIA to extend your work permit or you can change your status to visitor for now and wait for nomination. Once you get nomination letter and work permit support letter, you can apply for Closed work permit with help of employer. Note you don’t need LMIA if you got nomination.

Hi All - Is it normal for IRCC to request for documents you have already submitted before - especially if it shows on your profile that they have received the said documents.
I have been getting messages asking me for Medical Examination and Police Certificate... I have provided both before. Medical examination shows completed on my profile

Security screening is done by third parties not by IRCC . It can get very frustrating as you can’t follow up with them . Unfortunately you can’t do anything besides waiting.
