Because your friend's file was passed in security under normal condition. Most of the file go to advanced security, those files stuck for 8-10 month. My file will complete 11 months in August. Still waiting for portal 1 one. only got PAL and medical passed

Hello everyone! I'm trying to contact IRCC at 888-242-2100. However, after entering all the requested information and listening to the message about the status of my application, I ask to speak with an agent in option 0 and I hear a message that it is not possible to transfer to an agent due to the high volume of calls. And asks me to try later. Is this the normal flow or is there a shortcut to talk to an agent? Is there a key sequence indicated?

What works for me is that I try during another time or day and i get connected. If you're getting that message, try calling during a different time or a different day altogether.

in my experience, it comes with Biometrics request or very close to the AOR. In some rare cases such as mine, it comes near the very end of your application (still waiting). You must be familiar with the new Temporary Policy of IME.

I am an inland applicant.. came out of canada for couple of months and I got medical request along with PAL..

you've got the request while you're out? You can go to the visa office in that country and submit the required stuff. I know the Biometrics could be done that way but not sure about the Medical.

I am not the best person to ask then, In my opinion, if the medical is done with an IRCC approved physician, should not be a problem. But again, someone from this thread might know more and might have more updated news. check with your representative, if you have one.
