"Message waiting"? I guess you meant to say the trackers say "We sent you a message about your application"? (new update with purple star?) If so, this can either mean that there has been some movement on your file, which could be internal update (like some agent looked up your file, made some doc review or update for next officer review or maybe sent for BGC or Sec, or file moved between offices or departments etc..etc. It also could be ADR which you will get to know in your GCKEY account (if linked).

I have seen similar notes in my application as well like for instance: "We sent you a message about your application". However I did not received any email update or any new update in my GCKEY account. After waiting for couple of days, I called them to check if there is any update on my file and they said there is none.

Though one thing good in the tracker is that: under the application history, if it says "we received your enquiry", its either web form you sent or update of doc submitted. If its says "We sent you a message about your application" is external update (to you, most likely you get will an email too) or an internal update. So some indications of something happening on the file is better than GCKEY at least, else just call them.
Yes, the tracker says we sent you a message about your application so I logged into my gckey since I didn't receive any email notification but didn't see any message either. I called ircc today, was unable to speak to an agent, I guess the application was look into as you said. Thanks for your reply

Oh, I see a similar timeline. Typically, all the offices are faster except the Edmonton. Let's see when we will see an update.

Okay calm down. We're not in August 2023 - so tell us exactly where your application is at, including your work permit details and restrictions contained, and the province you're in.

Dont worry, if you are laid off. you can tell IRCC. On humanitarian grounds, it should not impact much, But you should actively be looking for the job

Hoping good news arrive soon for us. I might call IRCC tomorrow to see if there’s any progress with security. I also noticed through the spread sheet that it usually takes about 2 months for security from the Winnipeg office but of course it could take longer.
fingers crossed!

In that case, you would have to let IRCC know (like an explanation letter) and don’t worry, your application will still be processed. I believe there was another person in this forum who got laid off and got their PR. You might want to go back a few pages and read about that.
Good luck!

Sorry I maid mistake I applied in August 2022 thought OINP: International Student stream, province Ontario. I talked to ma lawyer and. she told me that I can't change a job even if I find another one cause my nomination is not gonna be valid anymore. I have an open work permit but it's gonna expired in October 2023, so I applied for closed work permit in January based on mu employer

Your lawyer is a dropkick retard, I want you to fire her. Promise me you'll fire her? I am so sick of hearing clueless lawyers and their shit advice.

Your first order of business is to notify ONIP that you lost your job and you are attempting to find new work. ONLY DO THAT WHEN YOUR EMPLOYER HAS OFFICIALLY TERMINATED YOUR EMPLOYMENT IN WRITING (I.E. ON THE DAY YOU OFFICIALLY LOSE YOUR JOB). ONIP will give you some time to do this. The lucky thing for you is that you have an OWP expiring in October, which means you should be able to find a new job well (you can work in it because you have an OWP), and then apply for a new closed work permit based on an updated ONIP nomination reflecting the new employer - if your OWP expires before you get your closed work permit, well you get implied status.

By then, your PR application may be approved and none of this will matter.

Promise me you'll FIRE this lawyer?

Thanks a lot for your answer

I feel better now, I will call OINP tomorrow and will ask them about it. I wasn't terminated officially yet, I just want to verify some information through OINP. Thanks a lot for your help guys ❤❤❤❤ love you all
