Hi everyone. Finally, it is my turn! During this stressful process, I read this forum everyday and it helped me a looooot. Thank you so much! That is why I know how important to share timeline and tips. So, here is mine:

Non-EE PR Application submitted: Nov 16, 2023

BIL and AOR: Feb 20, 2024

Medical request: Mar 12, 2024 (I had one medical done before, I submitted it with the application, but they ignored it somehow. So, don't worry if they request again. Just do another one.)

PAL: never got it (but I had a representative so maybe he got it but didn't forward me, I am not sure)

Final decision notification: Again, my representative never let me know but listen to this: During the process I called IRCC once a week -of course never connected to an agent- but I used the automated phone service, which is a machine telling you the status of your application in a generic way. The last time I called was on Sept 6, for the first time machine didn't say anything and tried to connect me to an agent. Anxiously, I came back to this forum and found out that means your application process is completed.

P1: Sept 10, 2024 (replied in a couple of hours)

P2: Sept 24, 2024 (here I would recommend to take a digital picture in a professional photographer -not in Shoppers or London drugs kinda place. The real professional ones are a bit more expensive but worth it. I didn't know this and got my photo from London drugs, but then the system gave me warning saying "too bright or too dark". I didn't submit and run to a professional photographer. The system accept it as it is immediately)

e-copr: Oct 1, 2024 (I linked the PR card application to my GCKEY next day)-(at this stage, you don't have to wait for the physical card, just go change your SIN, go to your bank, let your HR know, change your health card and driver's license. I did them all in a few days. The other thing is, since you change your SIN, your CRA account with the old SIN will be deactivated. Wait for the deactivation -it takes a couple of weeks. After making sure that you are not able to sign in to your old CRA account, open a new account with your new SIN number. At that stage the system will ask you last year's numbers in your tax assessment, just enter those numbers as is shown in your assessment, and then you will see in the new account, your old stuff are linked automatically)

Final Decision Notification for PR card (GU1): Oct 17, 2024
PR card is mailed Notification (GU2): Oct 18, 2024

PR card in my mailbox: Oct 23, 2024 (and by the way, in the portal, the photo looks still "in review", so don't worry if any info looks "in review")

In PR tracker, the eligibility still shows "not started", so don't worry if it is the case in yours.
Sorry, it is a bit long post, but I want to share the knowledge, especially the stuff I had a hard time finding back then.

Good luck everyone! I hope you all get yours very soon.
Congrats!!!

If you change your job , you have to submit post nomination request and submit it to PNP office. It’s requirement to let them Know about any changes to your job , job duties , pay , lay off etc .

No it won’t have any impact on your application if you are meeting conditions of your nomination. When you inform them , they will inform you further.

If you are meeting conditions of your nomination, they will advise you further and won’t revoke your nomination. They will inform you before doing anything. Your job duties should match 60-80% with your Teer code .

@Miss bee You are the leader-expert of the forum, I appreciate your kindness. I have a question about the general processing time after biometrics. Can you explain to us step by step, please?

After giving biometrics for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR), here are the typical steps you can expect in the process:

1. Acknowledgment of Biometrics

• Processing Time: A few days to a week.

• Your biometrics information is updated in the system, and you’ll receive confirmation via your IRCC account.

2. Background Check

• Purpose: Verifies criminal records, security clearance, and past immigration history.

• What to Expect: IRCC may contact other countries or institutions to conduct this check.

• Processing Time: Varies; some applications take weeks, others take months.

3. Medical Examination (if not already done)

• You may receive a request to undergo a medical exam with an IRCC-approved physician, if it wasn’t submitted earlier.

• After completing the exam, the doctor sends results directly to IRCC.

4. Additional Document Requests (if needed)

• IRCC may request further documents, such as:

• Police clearance certificates.

• Proof of work experience or education.

• Updated forms or clarifications.

5. Eligibility and Application Review

• IRCC assesses if you meet the eligibility criteria under the immigration program you applied for (e.g., Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Program).

• Officers review all documents, forms, and biometrics for completeness and accuracy.

6. Passport Request (PPR) / Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR)

• Once your application is approved, you will receive a passport request (PPR) through your IRCC account.

• Inside Canada: You’ll get a COPR instead of needing to submit your passport.

• Outside Canada: You’ll need to send your passport to a visa office for a PR visa stamp.

7. Travel to Canada (if applying from outside) / Virtual Landing Process

• Outside Canada: Travel to Canada with your PR visa and receive your COPR at the port of entry.

• Inside Canada: IRCC will guide you through the virtual landing process or an in-person landing interview to confirm your PR status.

8. Receive Your PR Card

• After confirmation of your PR status, you will be mailed your PR card (if you are in Canada).

• Processing Time: 2-4 months after landing.

• The PR card is your official proof of permanent residency and is needed for travel.

If your application is delayed, you can track your status via the IRCC portal or call IRCC for updates. Keep an eye on your emails and IRCC account for further notifications throughout the process.

Can anyone please advise on the question about the Job Offer. I’m currently preparing to apply at “Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream”. But I’ve already been working in the company for more than a year and my old job offer doesn’t have some info, like NOC and working location. I’ve read that I will need to ask for a Reference Letter with info about NOC and duties. But I’m working remotely, should I still ask to include “working location” in the reference letter? The company has office in Ontario and there are people working in the office physically. I’m also living in Ontario, just remotely from another city. Should the letter still have the specific note about working location? Or simply the office location from the letterhead will be enough? I’m also not going to claim points for location.
