That doesn’t means anything. Even if it’s expired you can still keep working under same employer and same conditions.

What if the processing time exceeds the time mentioned on the applied status ketter ? Should i raise a webform regarding it
Yes, if the processing time exceeds what is mentioned in your applied status letter (also known as the implied status letter) or exceeds the normal processing time published by IRCC, you can raise a webform inquiry. Here’s what you should consider before doing so:
Steps to Take
1. Check IRCC’s Current Processing Times:
Confirm the average processing time for your type of application on the IRCC processing times page.
2. Wait Reasonably Beyond the Stated Time:
IRCC suggests waiting a few weeks beyond the stated time before raising an inquiry unless there are urgent circumstances.
3. Prepare Documentation for the Webform:
Include the following in your webform inquiry:
• Application number.
• A copy of the acknowledgment or confirmation email/letter you received after submitting your work permit application.
• Details about the applied status letter.
• Your current status and urgency of the situation (e.g., nearing the expiry of implied status).
4. Submit the Webform:
• Use the IRCC webform.
• Clearly explain that your application has exceeded the processing time and request a status update.
5. Follow Up if Necessary:
If you don’t receive a response after raising a webform inquiry, you can consider contacting IRCC through other channels, such as their client support center or via your Member of Parliament (MP) if urgent.
If there are extraordinary circumstances (e.g., an impending loss of status or job), mention those explicitly to emphasize the urgency of your case.

Hello, On GC Account i got hidden Update
My Background Check status updated from In Progress to Not Applicable
What does this mean ? @Miss bee
When your Background Check (BC) status changes from “In Progress” to “Not Applicable (N/A)” in your GCKey account, it typically indicates a transition in your application processing. Here’s what it may mean:

What Does “Not Applicable” Mean?
1. Background Check Stages:
• The Background Check (BC) process in PR applications usually has multiple stages:
• R10 Completeness Check: Ensures all required documents are submitted.
• Eligibility Check: Assessment of your qualifications, job offer (if applicable), and other factors.
• Admissibility Checks: Includes medical, criminality, and security checks.
• When the status changes to “Not Applicable,” it could mean:
• A specific stage of the BC has been completed (e.g., criminality or security).
• Your file has moved to another processing phase.
2. Temporary Placeholder Status:
• Sometimes, IRCC updates the status to “Not Applicable” as a placeholder while transitioning between stages. The BC might resume later as “In Progress” again.

Possible Interpretations:
• Criminality Passed: If IRCC completed the criminality check, they might temporarily mark BC as “Not Applicable.”
• Security Checks Started or Awaiting: If your application is under comprehensive security screening, the status might stay as “Not Applicable” until security checks begin or are completed.
• System Update: IRCC’s internal systems occasionally update GCKey statuses, which may not always align in real-time with actual processing progress.

What Should You Do?
1. Monitor Closely
• Watch for further updates in GCKey or the PR tracker (if applicable).
• If there is no progress for a few weeks, consider raising a webform inquiry.
2. Security Screening Note:
• Since your application is already under comprehensive security screening, this update could signify that criminality has passed and the focus is now shifting to security checks.
3. Stay Patient:
• Background Check updates can fluctuate; it doesn’t always indicate an issue or delay.
• You’re still within the normal process as long as you haven’t received any procedural fairness letters (PFLs) or requests for additional documents.
