Hi anyone here, who has non-accompanying family member in the application and had a medical issue specifically in the sputum test? Can medical test be waived for non-accompanying member if there is an issue on the sputum test?

If there is an issue with the sputum test, then the more they'll want to see that medical, because Canada is very particular about keeping tuberculosis away....

As for whether it is an issue if the dependent is non-accompanying anyway, I have no idea. Not too many similar cases reported on this forum, and I've been here a while.

1, No the medical cannot be waived. If a dependent fails the medical, then all fail, whether accompanying or not.

If the non-accompanying dependent needs further testing or treatment for TB all the family’s application will be on hold until the issue is resolved.

Following here. What happened to your application? I think we’re on the same boat. My partner’s non-accompanyinh dependant has medical issue, we just found out today after the medical center redid his blood test. Is there any way out of this? Or to fix this? Can we make a notarized lettwr stating that we will not sponsor him in the future? Any idea?

Who is this dependent?
This sounds really bad if that's one of your partner's children.
In general that's not an option. Most of the time, there is an option to delcare to never sponsor a minor because they do not have contact or the ex-spouse do not cooperate for the process. Not when they failed medical exam.
