Congratz and thanks for the update, mate. I ended up going through the same path as you and applied for my PR stating my spouse as non-accompanying at the end of August. So far no issues and I'm hoping to get my COPR during April.

Finally, I received the COPR last week, and waiting to receive my PR card. Like many other applicants I was worried about my application (Express entry-CEC, July 2020) with non-accompanying spouse who lives with me in Canada. Initially I thought I would tell them low CRS score is the main reason for my non-accompanying spouse application. At the time of application, I made a LOE saying that my spouse is not interested to become PR during this COVID situation. I showed this as the main reason why I am applying with non-accompanying spouse.

It is NOT mandatory for your spouse to apply for PR with you. It's your spouse choice, and that's how you should convince VO. Remember, even though your spouse is not accompanying, you both must submit police clearance certificates, biometrics and medicals.

Currently, I am working on my spousal sponsorship PR, and I don't know how long it's gonna take.

Good luck guys.
Bro can u share exact LOE . I m in same boat. Mohitsingh100597@gmail.com

I just got my eCoPR as well and will start working on spousal sponsorship. Hows your application progress going?

Hey, I am planning to apply without my spouse. Any questions or documents asked until now? Do I need to submit a reason why he is not accompanying me? Is there an interview with the visa officer? One of my agents told me that.

No docs and no questions asked. I did give a reason which was that I believed it was my only option to get a PR at the time and that I would sponsor my wife afterwards (or she'd apply for it herself). Nothing wrong in doing that.

I also applied without my spouse (non accompanying). I just mentioned reason-personal reason. I’m only worried about that . Is it my reason is adequate or they ask more explanation?
