Nomination certificate requested by CIC

My application was received on April,2014. CIC started processing my application on August,2014.I even done medical and paid RPRF.My question is now i have received via email that requesting for extension of of my nomination certificate even though i have applied before the expire date of my nomination.Shall i assume that it is the computer error or does it have other reason..
