NOC similar to 2132(Mechanical Engineer) but is not regulated in Ontario.

Hello Members,

I received letter of interest from Ontario on 4th Dec 2015. I am a Mechanical Engineer and have shown 2132 as my NOC. While I was searching for procedure to submit my application, it came out that Mechanical Engineering is regulated profession and I need to have professional license before submitting the application. This is not possible as it is very lengthy and time consuming process.

My question was do we have any other NOC which is similar to Mechanical Engineers and can I change it now after getting the letter of interest from Ontario.

There is considerable difference between the job description for both the codes 2132 and 2232.
I am Master's holder in Mechanical engineering.
If I go ahead and change my NOC code to 2232 will this be considered as providing false information to CIC.

Also does this changing NOC code effect my future life in Canada in any way?

No problem here.
I am a Master's holder as well and using NOC 2281, which is NOC B. The requirement is min of secondary education.
As a PR, you're not tied to any NOC. If you want to practice in a NOC that requires mandatory licensing - you have to get licensed.

1. You can change the NOC on CIC profile, and use same NOC to apply to OINP
2. Change of NOC will not reduce your CRS score

Well I have already sent my complete application for PR on 25th November. I am FSW outland Candidate having received ITA on 2nd october. I am not applying under any provincial nomination . I have also chosen NOC-2132 (Mechanical Engineer) as my NOC. However, I have not provided any licence or similar document with my application. Neither it was asked by CIC. I provided WES report, deegres and marksheets, experience letter as per CIC format, pay stubs, job appointment letter to prove that I am mechanical engineer and working in the same field since more than 3 years

My question--> is it mandatory requirement to submit this licence along with your PR application ?
If yes, then from where I will get such licence. I live in India.

Please guide.

License is not required for application submitted after ITA, but it is mandatory requirement if you are applying under provincial nomination program e.g. OINP, SINP.

Can you please direct me to that thread.
Cause when I received letter of interest from Ontario, it was clearly stated that if your profession is regulated in ONtario than you need to fulfill the license requirement.
When I went to the site for licensing, it has procedure for applicants outside of Canada, so I feel it is mandatory irrespective of your location.
Saying that I am still not confident about this and hence if you can send me that thread it will be of immense help.

Sorry I misread your answer, So while filing your application no license was not required?
When did you get letter of interest and how long it took for nomination?
