Hi guys,
I am in a limbo here. I contacted Employment and Social Development Canada to help me identify the most relevant NOC based on my duties. But their reply isn't of much help! Please see below.
"Thank you for your interest in the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
The NOC is designed to classify occupational information in the Canadian labour market in a standardized framework and a manageable, understandable and coherent system. The basic principle of classification of the NOC is that of kind of work performed. Occupations are identified and grouped primarily in terms of the work usually performed, this being determined by the tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the occupation. Factors such as the materials processed or used, the industrial processes and the equipment used, the degree of responsibility and complexity of work, as well as the products made and services provided, have been used as indicators of the work performed when combining jobs into occupations and occupations into groups. An occupation is defined as a collection of jobs, sufficiently similar in work performed to be grouped under a common label for classification purposes. A job, in turn, encompasses all the tasks carried out by a particular worker to complete their duties.
Based on the information you have provided, we are unable to propose a potential NOC code. Please conduct a more thorough search in the NOC Web site (http://noc.esdc.gc.ca/English/noc/welcome.aspx?ver=16) by using your occupational title or keywords related to your occupation in the Quick Search box located at the top or using a complex search in the Search the NOC box located at the top left side of the menu bar. This will generate a list of possible occupations. The education, main duties and employment requirements should also correspond to your occupation.
If you encounter difficulties in finding the NOC code that matches to your occupation, please send us the following information about your occupation:
- the exact job title;
- the education and work experience required by the employer for entry into the occupation; and
- the type of establishment in which the work is performed.
For reasons of security and privacy do not send any documentation electronically, such as resumes and government-issued case numbers or hyperlinks.
Note that the final decision for selecting the most appropriate National Occupational Classification (NOC) code is each individual's responsibility as he/she knows his/her education, skills and abilities better than anyone else. Our role is only to provide guidance.
Thank you for contacting the NOC and have a nice day."

Thanks
