Hi All,

Currently I am working as a .Net developer but am also studying for Business analyst profile. I am trying to switch to that profile. I am giving interviews for the same but dont know if I will get job in 3 months or 4 months or so. So, wanted to ask that for which NOC should I apply? EIther as software engineer (related to .net developer profile) or as a BA(business analyst)?

Please help.

You need at least 1 year of experience in your main NOC.

As from what you have posted, you have no experience in B.A so there is no point in selecting an NOC for B.A. You must select NOC for .Net as this will be your primary occupation/NOC. Make sure as jes_ON said, you need to have 1 year of full time experience in .Net to claim points.

Thank you for the reply but is there any authority to check if a person has got the experience in the field he/she is marking in the express entry or not?

CIC will be the authority to validate your claim, you will need to provide a specific format letter from your employer with all the details about your job position and duties and dates. CIC will determine if you selected the right NOC based on that letter and information you provide. They may or may not call your employer to verify everything, but if they find something wrong your application can be rejected.

While selecting the NOC, the duties and responsibilities mentioned in the NOC should be a close match with the actual duties and responsibilities carried out by you at the respective job. You need not match the duties and responsibilities word by word, but the idea is to have the closest match in terms of the spirit of the duties and responsibilities (at least 60%-70% match).

Also, NOC should be selected on the basis of the match of actual duties and responsibilities carried out by you rather than the designation match in the NOC list. If you are not sure of your NOC, write to noc@workingincanada.gc.ca with your duties and responsibilities, they will help you find the closest fit.

Hello Stanlee,
I've got my NOC code verified by writing at NC-NOC-CNP-GD2@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca is this also correct email?

Also I'm wondering, if CIC/IRCC also get the applicant's profile evaluated through this agency (workingincanada.gc.ca/hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca) only?

Moderator1983 - Its correct/valid email id, not sure about the one specified by Stanlee
