NOC job area different from education subject

Good day all.

I have enough points to make an application which I will be doing soon. I have one question I can't find an answer to anywhere.

I have two years of work experience as a police officer (NOC type B). I have a four year degree in business management. As far as I'm aware I get points for having a degree even though it's in a different subject from my work area.

The NOC area for police officers mentions that most officers have qualifications in criminology and other similar areas.

Can anyone clarify if I could still get in with a different qualification subject - even if I have a degree and relevant work experience? Or do I need my degree to be related to my job duties. And where can I find more info on this? I'm in the UK.

In my case, I didn't find it difficult to get valid ECA and then PR when my education and work ex is different.
I have done my degree in Electronics and Communication whereas my work ex is as a software programmer / application developer.
Now the thing is, you will get ECA for whatever major you have degree in.
Whether you qualify for the particular NOC you are applying totally depends on the duties you are performing in the job.
You need to provide the list of duties and most importantly a letter from your employer or your superior confirming that you actually are performing all those duties that you are qualifying scores for.

If you can do so, I don't think there should be any problem in proceeding. There are many applicants who have degree in one area and work ex in some other.

Thanks for the reply.

Now that I know I'll be able to get in I'm now going to look at getting a province nomination.
