Noc issue

Hey guys!

I graduated here and I have been working as a visiting scholar for 1 year. I can't seem to find a noc class for it and whether its eligible or not?
I'm getting graduate research assistantship pay but I'm working full time.

Please let me know if I can be considered?

Hi there,
Yes you are eligible. The NOC code for "Visiting Scholar" job title is 4011. I am also working as a visiting scholar. However, it is very confusing in the NOC website regarding the duties. For NOC 4011 most of the duties are involved with teaching, while visiting scholar only do research (very similar to postdoc).

The job duties listed are intended to generally cover all the positions included in the class. It does not imply that teaching must be your primary duty.

However the employment requirements state that I need to have a masters or post doctoral degree. I have just completed a bachelors degree, but I got this position based on my previous research work. Do you think I would still qualify? Also I completed my bachelors from the same university but I'm now working in a different department( so I'm technically visiting the department.)

Employment requirement mentioned in NOC website does not apply for CEC application. It only applies for other classes of application. If you have the job experience even without having the masters or PhD degree you still qualify.

This is highly unusual... A visiting scholar is usually at the professorial level (e.g. Ph.D.), and you've already stated that you're paid at the same rate as GRA. In this case, I think your job title is misleading, and you should go with either

(you would ignore the requirement of being enrolled)
