NOC----HELP ME IN CLASSIFYING JOB TITLE

Dear forum members please help me in classification of job title. my brother is working as licensed insurance advisor (home & auto ) in royal bank of canada------RBC INSURANCE. under which NOC he should apply for PR in CEC . he had graduated from a canadian university.he is having a PGWP for three years upto middle of 2013

Probably 1434, Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Clerks (NOC Skill Level C). Check the duties under insurance clerks - if this is what he does, then it's the correct NOC:

Insurance clerks perform some or all of the following duties:

* Process enrolments, cancellations, claims transactions, policy changes and premium payments
* Review insurance applications and verify insurance coverage, premiums paid and other insurance information
* Calculate insurance premiums, pension benefits and annuity payments
* Compile and maintain claims data, rates and insurance data and records
* Answer enquiries and provide information on insurance products, policies and services.

Unless your bother is promoted to a supervisory position, the experience will not count as "skilled" (NOC O, A, or B level), and he will not qualify under the CEC program.

thanks jes-ON for reply, as per his duties, most of these are similar to insurance underwriters i.e. NOC--1234. HE ADVISE THE CLIENTS for their queries regarding insurance policies. out of six duties of NOC--1234, he is performing Insurance underwriters duties at serial no. 1,3,4,5. HIS MAIN DUTY IS SIMILAR TO WRITTEN AT NUMBER 5.

MAIN DUTIES ;-
1. Review individual and group applications for automobile, fire, health, liability, life, property, marine, aircraft and other insurance
2.Evaluate new and renewal applications to determine insurance risks, insurance premiums, extent of insurance coverage and other conditions of the insurance contract using medical reports, rate tables and other documents and reference materials; adjust premiums, coverage or risk itself to make acceptance of new and renewal applications possible
3.Approve sale of insurance policies and ensure compliance with government regulations
4.Provide recommendations on individual or group insurance plan designs
5.Provide underwriting advice and answer inquiries from clients and from insurance agents, consultants and other company personnel
6.Prepare underwriting reports and update insurance forms when necessary.

If he can claim that he was working under NOC 1234 and support that claim with a letter of job duties from his employer showing that it is a good match, then he can apply under CEC.
