Hello guys I submitted my application already and just realized that a better NOC could have been used, however the duties and responsibilities for both NOCs match what i did. could that be an issue? is it late to submit a new ref letter? I'm expecting my AOR in a couple of weeks. any feedback is greatly appreciated.

If the NOC responsibilities and job duties are the same you better stick to the reference letter that you have already included in your application already. If you are really fussy about it and this is giving you headaches, you can always compose a cover letter and explain the situation with a new ref letter.

Best of luck,

Thank you for your reply. well i'm more worried than being fussy. the issue is I just realized that I require the following for my category:

Employment requirements

Completion of secondary school is usually required.
Several years of experience as a qualified tradesperson in a relevant trade are required.
Journeyman/woman trade certification in a relevant trade is required.

I don't have a trade certificate, and I just noticed a better NOC 6314 that I should have used, which has same duties and responsibilities however without certification requirements. should that be an issue?

OK then, by all means go ahead with an explanation letter and a new ref letter. Ask more people (seniors) about this as well.

Do you have a closed work permit? If so, you need to apply with the occupation listed in your work permit

Hi... No it's an open work permit. The noc I chose is similar to 6314, however the the requirements is several year experience and journey man certification which I don't have. I just realized that 6314 is a perfect match for me as a telecommunications call centre supervisor, but at the time of application I thought 6314 is skill C and used a different one instead. The duties for the one I chose are:

Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers who install, repair and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures and control devices, power systems, telecommunication systems and cablevision systems
Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments or subcontractors
Requisition materials and supplies
Resolve work problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity
Train or arrange for training of workers
Recommend personnel actions such as hirings and promotions
Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed
Prepare work progress reports
May manage the operations of their own companies
May also supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of related apprentices, helpers and labourers.

I had the same thing happen to me, I mailed a new copy of the Schedule 8 and filled in the correct NOC. I didn't submit a new Employment Letter as I didn't make any mention of NOC.

I mailed it to the Ottawa address after receiving my AOR.

Thanks for replying bud. Well my issue is that the NOC I chose requires certification and experience that I don't have. I have been working as a call centre supervisor for 2 years now I.e. Noc 6314. Do you suggest that I resend an explanation letter from my employer, they are willing to provide me with a corrected letter with the right NOC since they chose the first one? Also what are the risks of leaving the initial NOC?
