Hi all,

WES evaluated my Major for my Master Degree as Management ( it was a double major in Material Science and Management). And I have been working as Research Assistant and Chemist in the last 4-5 years, both full-time. My employment reference letters' duties are in line with Chemist(NOC 2012)' job duties for Scientist NOC. But, Will WES evaluation of my Master Degree as Management Major negatively affect my application for Express Entry? So, will this assessment prevent me claiming my Scientist jobs in Canada and overseas??

For NOC 2012,Chemist, it is written this on IRCC:

"Employment requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry or a related discipline is required.
  • A master's or doctoral degree is usually required for employment as a research chemist."

Please help as I am really worried.Thanks.

My NOC asked for a degree in business administration (NOC 1221) under employment requirements. While i have a BSc. I think the employment requirements aren't applicable for your actual application. What matters is if your job duties matches the duties listed in your NOC.

thanks a lot! this is really helpful. and when we select Noc during express entry application, we select NOC based on job duties, right? instead of job title.

I will only provide my Master Degree (ECA from WES) . Do you see any problems with me having Master Degree recognized as Management Master Degree, but working as research scientist?? Please reply
