NOC Codes - Interpretation

Hi everyone,

I've been going through various options for establishing PR for my wife, who is a U.S. citizen that's been working in Canada since 2005 through a series of renewed 1 year work permits as a "Junior Architect".

While going through some of the PR documentation I've come across reference to these NOC codes, which would intuitively put her in class 2151 - Architects. One of the "requirements" of that class however, is the completion of the Architect Registration Exam, which she is currently in the process of doing, but hasn't yet completed it.

Since her employer has been giving her offers of employment as a Junior Architect (while she completes her internship, and registration exams), is that requirement somehow waived? She satisfies all the other requirements, however if this is going to be a "deal breaker" in her application for PR, I don't want to go there. She's never had any problems renewing her 1 year permits as a Junior Architect.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick reply! I've also come across this, which seems to support your thinking...

Architects are NOT on the list of 38. Does that remain an issue if an offer of full-time employment is offered?

I am a Canadian citizen, my wife has been here and working since June 2005. Trying to determine the best way to keep her here! I've actually made another post on the topic with all the details...
