Hi experts,
I am trying to find a NOC code for my work. My title is office manager. I have chosen 1221. In the employment requirements, there is one thing that I don't fulfil - "Experience in a senior clerical or executive secretarial position related to office administration is usually required. I did not have any previous experience. Should I be worried? Is 1221 suitable?

Also my duties and roles:
- Managing the overall administrative activities & overseeing the implementation of established policies and procedures.
- Creating or updating & implementing new procedures/policies as required.
- Managing the staff work schedule, delegating responsibilities, organizing staff meetings, setting work deadlines and conducting staff appraisals.
- Responsible for managing office's/clinic's equipment & supplies. Responsible for negotiating office/clinic space lease agreement for existing & future facilities.
- Responsible for maintaining financial, budgetary & inventory of the business operation.
- Responsible for sub-contracting office's/clinic's cleaning & sanitizing services and managing other business related sub-contractors.
- Handle business correspondences and generate periodic sales figures, revenue reports.

No previous experience, as in, this is your very first job?

If you literally have ZERO prior experience, there *may* be some issues. In the past, IRCC has questioned people in "managerial" positions, managing other people, when they have zero prior experience. It is one of those red flags. But it's hard to say if it will specifically be an issue for you.

The NOC appears to be appropriate for the job duties and responsibilities. But it would be unusual for someone to have such responsibilities without any prior work experience.

Well, it doesn't necessarily mean you can't get a job as a Manager if you don't have experience. I have one position in my company which can be filled by two type of people which is either by a person with a Degree or with the diploma and five years of experience and the position is Lead hand CAD Designer. So, the point is, if you have a good education background, you don't have to start as a general laborer and get promoted to manager after 5 or 10 years. A manager's training should be necessary for an entry level candidate. Just attach a General manager training certificate with your education credentials or with the job letter which I'm sure every manager gets when they get hired.

No. This is not my very first job. I have had other jobs previously. I also have a Business administration degree. Had no issues to learn and mould into this position, been quite successful. But the employment requirements bothers me.

I don't think you need to worry about the "requirements" -
