NOC code

Hi:

I am working as a biochemist and in my work permit also it has been mentioned as a biochemist. But my job duties mostly matching with biochemistry technologist. I got letter from my employer which includes my duties are matching with biochemical technologist.

Now which NOC code should I use? Biochemist or biochemical technologist?

Can you ask your supervisor (or boss) to modify the reference letter to match your NOC from work permit ?
I had similar problem, my NOC in work permit was a programmer, but my actual job combined physics and programming
So, I explained my situation to a supervisor and asked him to write a letter concentrating on programming (and physics as well, but first programming)

I think, there is always freedom for interpretation. Immigration officers do not know a lot about science and biotechnology. Try to match key words (but not directly copy description from CIC site)

I can ask him, however in reality also mostly I do biochemistry technologist work only. Hence I am hesitant to ask him. Will it be the problem if i write NOC code as biochemistry technologist, although in my work permit it is chemist?

Hi:

I have completed my PhD and doing post-doc.

Chemist NOC code is A, however biochemistry technologist NOC code is B. In my work permit it is written as chemist. But my job role is matching with biochemistry technologist.

If i write in my application as biochemistry technologist, it seems to be PhD is over qualification to do this work. Now what should I do? Any master in science applied under B category?

Please suggest me. I am more tensed now. What should i write?

In my work permit it was written NOT AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN ANY OCCUPATION THAN STATED, that's why I decided to correspond NOC from there
Don't be nervous, explain situation to your boss and ask him. Anyways, you are doing a template for this letter, and he is just signing it

If still you want to have a letter corresponding to your actual job, then look through this forum, may be somebody already applied with NOC different from that one written in work permit

If you still hesitating, it is better to ask some lawyer, who give you professional opinion (if you really need, write me personal message, I have some contacts)

Thanks for your suggestion. I got a new reference letter from my employer. I guess now there will not b a any problem.
