Dear All,

First of all, I wish you all the best in 2017!

My question is regarding the selection of the right NOC in my EE application. I have 2.5 years of experience as Civil Engineer (NOC 2011) and 3.5 years as Geological Engineer (NOC 2144), my bachelors and master degrees are both in civil engineering. According to the NOC descriptions, both occupations are quite similar to some extent but I don't know whether I'm allowed to choose NOC 2011 as my single occupation (if so, I could say that I have 6 years of experience). Could you please give me some hints about what I should say in the Come to Canada tool and in the EE form (experience section and selected NOC)?

Thanks is advance for all your help!

NOC Code......

Hello!

I'm in a similar situation. I have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and master's degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Specialization. I have 2 years experience in geotechnical engineering. Basically 50% of the activities that I performed on my job relate to Civil Engineering and 50% to the geological engineering as per their description in NOC.

At the time of application, I thought geotechnical engineering is a specialization of Civil Engineering. All Geotechnical Engineering programs in Canada at Mater's and PhD level are offered by Civil Engineering Departments/Schools. Therefore, I used Civil Engineers - NOC 2131 as the primary occupation.

Did you use two different NOCs or just one? What do you suggest I should do?

Hopeful for your reply.

Regards,

Umair.
