NOC Code - Request help -

Hello,

I have been browsing the forums for a good response regarding NOC and I have got confused. So here goes my question -

I have completed my BE in Computer Science and Engineering and then directly proceeded to complete my MBA in Systems. Post MBA I have been employed as a Business Analyst and have been promoted to the designation of Consultant. So when I started searching for the right NOC code, I found that 2171 - Information Systems Analysts and Consultants is the best fitting my experience and current roles/responsibilities.

I can also apply for the NOC code - 0213 Computer and Information Systems Managers because my responsibilities also include Project Management and people management.

If I apply for 2171 does it affect my chances of approval or should I apply with 0213 ? Senior members Kindly guide.

I'm not a senior member but I may have an answer to your question. Unfortunately, you have no choice but to use NOC 0213 because NOC 2171, if my memory serves me right, isn't included in the FSW1 38 NOC list.

2. NOC:0213 is under 38 category but NOC:2171 is not under 38 category.

3. If your job duties match with NOC:0213 and you can show at least 1 year of experience under NOC:0213, You can apply.

4. You must score 67 out of 100 points.

FPEs are also employed as fire investigators, including such very large-scale cases as the analysis of the collapse of the World Trade Centers. NASA uses fire protection engineers in its space program to help improve safety. In some countries, fire engineers are employed to provide 3rd party review for fire engineering solutions submitted in support of local building regulation applications.

i am working as Fulltime institute research scholar in university and doing Phd . where i fall in NOC .

4131 is ok for me ?

i am taking practical labs/exams/tutorials/and research project activity some of the parts match with 4131.

they are giving me stipend

I have more than 67 points.. and yes I have worked for more than an year in 0213 category... and 2171 is what i have done as well for more than 3 years... i willmention that as well.. i hope thats okay..

I am interested in migrating to Canada as well under Federal Skilled Worker Program. I am not sure if I should apply under NOC 0213. How does CIC determine if a candidate falls under a particular NOC code? Do they look at the job title or roles and responsibilities? What document is most important while determining NOC code (offer letter/current experience letter). I should have no issues getting a letter from my HR describing my current roles and responsibilities as they are all genuine.

Any guidance would be really helpful.

Roles and responsibilities are more important than job titles. A letter of employment which enumerates your duties and responsibilities should suffice to prove your NOC code.
