Hi there,

Was working on my NOC classification and hit a stump. I work for an automotive manufacturer as a Market Analyst and listed below is the job description. In a nutshell, I'm meant to review the market in terms of competition and develop and implement sales strategies to ensure increased sales and profits. The job is NOT a Marketing Analyst position, but a Market/Sales Analyst. What would my NOC code be?

- Overall management of the dealer incentive systems and programs.
- Maintain and develop audit control mechanism between manufacturer and Controlling department ensuring month-end and year-end deadlines are met
- Maintain and oversee development of the incentive system ensuring the overall business requirements are being met
- Develop and maintain competitive analysis tools showing relative position of vehicles against competitors
- Support preparation of Long Range Planning for Profit and Sales
- Design and implement strategy to ensure increased sales volume and profitability

Thank you!

Salary isn't entirely relevant

You need to have the duties match as closely as possible rather than your job title - if marketing analyst responsibilities match what you do then it doesn't matter if you are a marketing/sales analyst as your title.

Ah I see, thanks! Spoke to HR and the duties match closely to 4163 so that'll be the route I take. If I have a degree in Life Sciences but under code 4163, the employment requires an Economics degree would it matter?

you cant say you were skilled while making 12 dollars an hour. Thinking that salary is not relevant is infant.

Imagine I am a friend (or family) to the owner of the cleaning company. My position is a custodian and after a year he gives me a letter that I was a supply manager.
Are you telling me this will work?
Hows ur Job offer of 100k finally turned out ?

Actually - as long as you are being paid relative to your noc or within a decent radius of the hrsdc median wage then salary doesn't matter.
If you are claiming to be a neuro surgeon being paid minimum wage then of course questions will be asked.
But please understand that some nocs do earn relatively low in the pay scale yet are considered skilled when it comes to CEC.
Asking the salary in this instance is irrelevant.

it is relevant. Of course the ranges for most of occupations are broad especially for temporary foreign workers.

With all respect to you, your previous post is out of logic.

IN the first part you say that salary matters, later that it is irrelevant.
Byrwus
no where in CEC process is there a qualifying salary guideline. There isn't even a requirement to adhere to the hrsdc - which by the way aren't for foreign workers but for EVERYONE in Canada.
HOWEVER, if you think about it for one second then a immigration officer is naturally going to question someone's application if they are earning waaaaay below what they technically should. Again, this isn't written anywhere but is common sense.

I've followed your posts since you joined this forum and your rate of inaccuracy is astounding - I suggest that if you don't know the answer to something then you don't say anything - rather than give people incorrect information.

I was working in a developing country, they really were paying little money but it doesn't mean I wasn't a skilled worker! How should we explain that then? the employer was abusive and the unemployment rate was high so people work for little money!
