Hi,

My roles and responsibilities are matching with two NOC Codes i.e. 1313 (Insurance Underwriters) and 1312 (Claims Examiners and Loss Adjusters).

While I was computing my CRS score online, it asks "How many years of skilled foreign work experience do you have? It must have been continuous, paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation". I am confused here because it will make a difference in points by approximately 30 to 40 points. I can provide experience letters for both the NOC but on CIC website under CRS points calculator it is asking for years of experience under one NOC only. In NOC 1313, I have 2.1 years of experience and in NOC 1312 I have 1.2 years of experience. In total, I can provide experience letter for 3.3 years of experience. If I chose 3+ years of experience, I get CRS score of 402 and if I chose only 2 years of experience for NOC 1313 I get 390 CRS score. Please advice if I can choose two NOC's for computing CRS points.

Yes.

For CRS purposes, you can have 3+ years of experience because you can add experience gained under multiple NOCs.

If you choose your Primary NOC as 1313, you will get 11 points on the FSW 100 point grid. If you choose Primary NOC as 1312, you will get 9 points on that grid. You will have to get at least 67/100 on that grid to qualify under FSW.

Hi Asivad Anac.. Really appreciate your help. For claiming points under FSW I have used 1313 only and have scored 74 points in total.

I got confused for CRS points because of the statement mentioned on CIC website. I wonder why are they not writing experience gained under multiple NOC on their CRS points tool on the website. Anyways my CRS score is 402 in that case. Keeping my fingers crossed.

One more thing, in IELTS, I have scored Listening - 8, Reading - 7, Writing - 6.5, Speaking - 7. Is there a way by which I can further improve my CRS score by writing IELTS again. I basically want to know assuming I submit EOI by September mid based on current IELTS score then I get CRS score of 402. Lager by September end I write IELTS again and improve my score then in that case can i submit my new IELTS score under my application. That will help me increase my CRS score i believe. Just wanted to know your thoughts on the same.

Your score will jump if you retake the IELTS ans improve your Writing to 7. That half point is pulling your score down!

If you haven't booked your IELTS already, recommend that you do that right away!

Bingo!! With 7 in writing my score jumped to 459.
I will retake IELTS and see if I manage to get L-8, R-7, S-7 and W-7.

@averma92 I am also a insurance professional. Pls advise on selecting NOC code I have total 26+ years of experience (20 years in Defense (Navy) and 6 years in managing claims Team across the country for marine cargo claims).

Qualifications are Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and BSC degree in Ship building and Hull Maintenance

My consultant has suggested for NOC 0013 and my CRS scores are between 370-380. Also advise which PNP has better chances for PR
