Hi,
I was recently reviewing the NOC code list for airline operations, and I couldn't find a specific code for the position of Crew Scheduling Specialist. I was wondering if the responsibilities of this role align more closely with a managerial position or if it falls more within the scope of a supervisor role. Can someone please assist me in determining the appropriate classification? I'm trying to match the position with the appropriate NOC code but haven't been successful so far.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hello,

The National Occupational Division (NOC) is the system of classifying and classifying services in Canada. It provides a standardized framework for organizing and understanding work activities. The NOC, though comprehensive, does not mention any specific position or job title.

For the position "Crew Scheduling Specialist" in the aviation industry, it would seem that it may not directly correspond to this particular title in the NOC designation but we can still try to determine the appropriate classification based on general responsibilities so and tasks associated with the program. The flight crew scheduling specialist is generally responsible for the scheduling and scheduling of flight crews, ensuring that qualified personnel and flight attendants comply with legal requirements such as rest periods and shifts .Able to handle last-minute changes, resolve scheduling conflicts, and maintain accurate records.

Given these responsibilities, a workforce planner is more likely to fit into a managerial role than a managerial position. They oversee day-to-day activities related to executive planning and can provide guidance and support to other team members involved in planning activities. However, please note that exact usage and job titles may differ between airlines and organizations.

To match the status to the nearest NOC code, you might consider looking at the rules for "Administration, Provisioning, Tracking, and Scheduling Intervals" or "Administration, Provisioning, Tracking, and Scheduling."
