Hi all,

I have finally got my WES and IELTS score and am ready to submit my EE profile (my CRS is 438). I'm hoping to get Ontario PNP. I have a few questions:

1. I've 3+ years of experience as a Digital Marketer (self employed). I'm confused b/w NOC 1123 and 0124. Both are similar NOCs. 0124 is kinda more related to my experience as it has a specific role mentioned in it "E-Business manager" which is close to my job description. However, under its duties only one line is specified "Experience in Web site design, interactive media development, data administration or information systems analysis or experience related to Web site content are usually required."

In all other NOC's, a lot of duties are mentioned but in 0124, only 1 line. Am I missing something? I do fit 4-5 duties mentioned in 1123 as well. So I am confused. Plus, I read somewhere in this forum that 0124 is a managerial position and so it'll be tough to prove my work experience under that. Is that right?

All my clients are from US, Australia and Germany and I reside in India (as its digital marketing, I work online). Taking all this info into context, please help me find the right code for my work.

2. Since I am self employed, while adding work experience in my EE profile..under the company name section.. should I just put my name and select self employed (since I am a sole proprietor)? or should I create a separate work experience for each of my client mentioning their company name in each experience ?

3. Should I considered hiring a travel agent/lawyer ? Or they are not worth it and I am good on my own? I'm just scared about the noc and self employed experience part. Is there any well reputed lawyer from Canada that you can recommend?

I'll really appreciate any help. Thanks!

Hi, I have the same confusion. The difference is I am working with an organization.

1. As per best of my knowledge, NOC code should be more related to the duties. Read the list of duties and see if you feel like you have performed them. From what I know, cic doesn't care much about designations but more about the duties. For now, I have zeroed to NOC 1123. But i have been at a managerial position so the confusion still remains! :/

2. You should enter the name of the person / organization that was paying you. You will also need an experience letter.

3. Well, not all immigration lawyers are useless. If you could find someone known or referred, it would be better and reliable.

Do let me know if you find more clarity on the NOC topic. Thanks and all the best :)

I am exactly in the same boat! I am self employed and I run a game company (Sole Proprietor), my role in this company is Video Game Producer, Video Game Project Manager and Video Game Art Director. According to NOC 5131, I qualify as all of them but I am also self employed. So Should I just write - Sole Proprietor, Video Game Producer? The space is limited. Please let me know if you have figured this out! Thank you!
