my job title is finance analyst and I worked in the finance department for the UK's National health service
here is the description:
1) Was responsible for exporting the data on a daily basis throughout the month end from the Finance System (ISFE) to Hyperion finance reporting ensuring the integrity of the data and completing cross validation checks throughout the month end process.
2) Responsible for building a centralized forecasting model for 5 CCG’s which provided management accountants with the ability to input the forecasts and produce live internal reports with up to date forecast information. The forecasting areas covered Income & Expenditure, Cash Flow and Headcount.
3) Designed Finance KPI dashboards and built customized Board Reports for Heads of Finance and the directors of the organization of the financial position to aid decision making. Lead in the production and distribution these reports ensuring the data is correct and delivered in accordance with the timetable.
4) Provide a 1st line Hyperion support function to all users (financial and non-financial), offering training, advice, guidance and support in relation to system issues and requirements. By analysing, investigating and resolving IT incidents and/or referring to Finance Systems Manager when appropriate. Thoroughly and efficiently gather user information, assess and fulfil user needs, educate the users where applicable to prevent future contacts
5) Produced, reviewed and distributed locally customized budget statements that provided monthly up to date financial information for the budget holders including employee and WTE reports with actual payroll costs per month grouped and summarized by pay scales.
6) Production of business cases to support Hyperion software and resource investment decisions and designing forecasting spread sheets, variance analysis at Cost centre and directorate levels for senior management
