Are the employment requirements important for CEC application?

The VO looks at those for regulated occupations (physicians, nurses, engineers) but usually not for unregulated. However, if they think there is something fishy with your application, they might.

Thanks for your post. Very informative.
My knowledge is limited in terms of NOC matching but my field is supply chain as well. I am a production analyst mine is NOC 1254. But yours is a clear match to NOC 1122. Also look at the illustrated examples on the NOC webpage:

specialist, standards
standards co-ordinator
standards specialist
supervisor, forms management analysts
supervisor, records filing systems analysts
supervisor, work study analysts
supply chain process analyst
team training specialist
time study analyst - services to management firms
transition management consultant
work reorganization consultant
work study analyst
work study analysts supervisor

I think mine might be NOC 1254 or 1225 (Purchasing Agents and Officers). The reason is that they say the duties should match more than the title itself. Although my title clearly matches 1122, I feel that they might have a problem with someone like me having only 1 year of post-grad experience in the "management" category of NOCs.

Experienced members, please advise? Thanks!!

NOC 1225 is for buyers/purchasers. Do you purchase raw materials or packaging or negotiate with suppliers?

NOC 1254 is for statistical analysts who analyze and report statistical data to management.

A supply chain analyst analyzes the whole supply chain and focuses on process improvements and providing suggestions to key players.
I dont know much about category's in NOCs. Lets see what others have to say about "what the VO will think".
Sometimes companies have job titles that don't perfectly match with the responsibilities. take a look at other "supply chain analyst" positions on indeed.ca for a more abstract approach.

Yes, the duties should match. So how do you then decide to judge on education/experience, not duties? Unless it's a regulated occupation (physicians, nurses, engineers), the VOs aren't supposed to evaluate based on education/experience.

Go back to the duties and employment context...

Hi Jes,
Does that mean I should go with NOC 1122 then (that matches the title + partly matches some duties) or should I go with 1254 (skill B) where my title does not match but there are some generic duties that do match with mine?

I am applying asap so I wanted to check for my reference letter's purpose.

I applied under 1122 and about 60% of my duties matched perfectly. Title doesn't mean much unless the duties match the NOC job description. I spoke with an immigration Consultant and from his experience apply under the NOC where you can match your duties the best.

Lead statement and duties are more important than job title...
