NOC code - 2171 System Analyst

Hi All,

My official designation with my company was Technology Lead at the time of leaving it. During my tenure with the company I was in different designations Software engineer, Technology Analyst and then Technology Lead. I selected 2171 System Analyst code and have also got the ITA. Wanted to double check if I am good with the NOC selected for my designation,

Also my experience letter mentions the details around the generic business/technology/system analyst skills like requirements gathering data mapping use case diagrams etc, mainframe technical skills - all regular SDLC skills ( coding, design, testing implementation etc) along with specific technical details of mainframe like cobol, JCL, DB etc and business/IT strategy automation skills. These are the main skills related to 2171 code

Apart from the above skills, experience letter also has references of project management and scrum master skills.

Wanted to check if these kind of details look fine as far as System Analyst role is concerned?

Any advise on this would be really helpful.

"As Information Technology Professional, he is responsible for providing production support to users, handles enhancements, coordinates monthly release and supports compliance activities."

Sorry I couldn't be much of help as I'm also facing the same problem of NOC.

I compared these details with the ones on the CIC website and did not find any reference to prod support activities though there is reference quality assurance practices which could be in a sense tied with compliance activities. Also there is a reference of assess physical and technical security risks to data.

But this is just my assumption based to comparing your experience with CIC website. Please check with some experts who have some knowledge of how the experience letter is assessed in a generic way.

Hi All,

Can anyone please check and advise on these questions ? Want to understand the generic way how the experience letter needs to be worded and how CIC interprets the details while comparing with the NOC code. I am thinking that CIC would generally compare the letter with NOC job responsibilities in a generic way and if they find some kind of resemblance, should be fine. But now sure how strictly they review the experience letter.

Any help on this is highly appreciated.
