Dear all

I am in process of creating an express entry profile for Canadian Immigration. I have come to a halt at the selection of NOC. I work as a Relationship Manager for a bank. I personally feel that NOC 6235 is a good fit but it says that a mutual fund license and a license from appropriate government body to sell financial products is usually required. I do not have these Canadian licenses as they are not a requirement in my country. Should i go for 6235 as my JDs are (not a 100% but) a good match to it.

Regards
Waqas

It should be fine...
I myself have selected it....
& There's a research section that you will be required to fill at the end of profile creation where a question will be asked if you know that your profession requires license to practice in Canada...answer yes...
---
the only implication is that you will have to get licenced post landing if you are choosing to pursue a career in banking...it doesn't stop you being issued PR...
same is the case with doctors / advocates / nurses and many other profession..

I was stuck with this confusion for few days and your reply made a lot of sense. My job responsibilities matched completely with the duties mentioned in 6235 (I work as a officer in Credit Department of our Bank), however I was worried about the required licenses.

Can you please confirm if it will cause trouble in getting Work permit?

Once you get pr , if the field you choose to work remain the same as your primary noc and if same requires any license there to work in that profession you will surely required to get the license...however as a pr, you’ll have plenty of opportunities...and any case the Canadian government offers lot of help to get you certified with mandatory ones as a newly landed immigrant...so don’t be worried much about anything...

Dear all,

Thanks for starting this thread. There is little help available for NOC 6235 on this forum.
My case is a bit strange. I worked for a private company in my home country that worked as consultant for banks. I worked as Credit Analyst on behalf of the banks as the banks outsource these jobs there. I was not directly on bank payroll. Here's a list of my duties which I performed while working there. Please guide me if you find this code appropriate:

Education: MBA - Concentration in Banking and Finance
Type of Establishment: Private Limited Co. (Limited Liability Co.)
Job Requirement: Minimum education Bachelors/Masters degree in Accounting and Finance, Chartered Accountant (intermediate level)

Duties:
1- Key logging-in the case into system,
2- Contacting and visiting client's business premises like factories, shops & stores etc.,
3- Extracting client's financial record/ERP system of client's business,
4- Sample Auditing the accounting records of the clients' business,
5- Sifting and analyzing through all accounting records provided by banks and client, such as financial statements, bank statements and/or previous financial appraisal reports, for accuracy and completeness,
6- Drafting the case report elaborating Customer's credit worthiness and slabs of repayment of loans,
7- Discussing with entire case with Chartered Accountant/Director for necessary approval,
8- Issuing the report to the bank electronically and in hard-copy and in case of client's refusal to issue relevant documents/information, communicate the case to banks,
9- Answering the client specific queries via telephone/email from the Credit Administration Dept. and/or head-office of the bank,
10- Supervising teams in 5 different cities of the country and training new staff,
11- Follow up with bank for the fee payment.

Thanks in advance. Would be looking forward to your earliest response.
