Hi friends, all of you who fall under the category of psychologists,let's link here so that we can share our experience! :)

Oh well,it seems there are no psychologists here :'(

You are not alone! Here am I! One more! hehehe

So, when did you send your app? Any reply yet?

Great to have you on board!!No I have not sent my application yet :( Will do so in the near future. ;D My visa office will be London and I am a clinical psychologist.Tell me more about yourself.

Thanks :)

I worked 3 years as a Psychologist doing lots of things, such as:
- Psychological assessments of patients suffering from severe rehab processes;
- Psychological counseling with people in social precarious conditions;
- Psychology therapy sessions;
- Psychological support sessions with elderly patients (bedridden and others); etc.

And now I'm working as a School Psychologist. :)

What about you?

I've been working in a hospital for the last 6 years.I work with patients who have pre surgery anxiety or face problems in post surgery/treatment adjustment.Plus I have my own clients with behavioral or emotional dysfunctions.

That's interesting and something that I would like to do. :) Do you have a PhD? I read that in Canada you can only be considered a Psychologist if you hold a PhD.

No I do not have a phd :'( only a masters degree which is considered sufficient in our country. :). do you have a phd? I wonder are we the only two psychologists on this forum? :o

I don't have a PhD either. I have a Licenciatura in Psychology (Portuguese formal name) which is equivalent to a 4 year bachelor specializing in Psychology (equivalence given by University of Toronto - comparative education service) and a 1year post-graduation in HR management.

I do intend to take a Masters or a PhD in Psychology as soon as I establish in Canada.

So, if I may, why are you planning to immigrate to Canada? Eager to try new experience and to live in a different country? By the way, where are you from?

And yes, I guess we are alone here...hahaha No problem. :)

I am from Pakistan.The reasons for immigration are many but the most important one is a better life for my children( i have two) in a secure and healthy environment. Now that your cc is encashed,I feel you are halfway through! Hope that you'll be writing from Canada soon. ;D BTW where do you plan to land?

Well, it's a positive step to have my CC encashed but it's really just one step. My app can be declined on further analysis. We never know, that's why I'm keeping myself very cautious.

I hope that sometime next year or the year after we could be writing OURSELVES in Canada. :)

I'm planing to land in Kingston, Ontario. I have family and friends there. And you?

Have you started to prepare your app? Have you done your IELTS exam? Hurry up! ;)

Yes I've done IELTS with 8 bands.My application is ready but for a few minor details.Our dream destination is Toronto. ;D

I had the same result in IELTS. :) Toronto is a great city, much more multicultural than the smaller cities like Kingston (150.000 residents). Toronto has a large Portuguese community. I do know that it has a large Pakistani community too.

Great! :)

Thanks for the info.Please pray for me.I really need it. :(

Do you need any help with your app? I'm far from being an expert on this processes but I've prepared things for my app, so feel free to ask. ;)
