Dear forum experts,

I have been reasearching on this topic quite extensively but all the solutions do not apply to my case. I would like to ask for your help regarding a specific situation of mine, I sincerely appreciate your time and concern, and please excuse me for the long message.

I am eligible for CEC with >1 years of Canadian work experience, my CRS score is at 480, which does not guarantee an ITA under the general draws, and other category-based draws since I am not eligible. I do have a 23-month foreign experience as a full-time research assistant during my master degree outside of Canada. I would like to claim points on that, for which I can raise my CRS score to 518.

I only have a detailed refrence letter from my previous supervisor with all the IRCC requirements, a research certificate with allocated funding to me rendered from the university, and other proof to prove my study for that period.

The main problem is that I did not receive any pay stubs, just the money wired to my bank account, and my young self at that time did not think far enough for the next 8 years to ask for the pay stubs. Added to that is that I did my master in a foreign country and my bank account was closed after my depature, thus I cannot have access to online banking to print out the bank statements.

Another problem is with the certificate from my university, where the funding only shows the research participation for my last 9 months; however the amount of money in that funding package is a bit higher than the total salary I received in the 23-month period. I think this is how my professor allocated the funding and it has nothing to do with my monthy payments, for which I received fully for 23 months.

I planned to explain the situation in an LOE but I am not sure if it is worth it. Because, as an RA, I still need to work for the university and my professor is only my supervisor, hence the 9-month funding package just bascially says that I only had 9-month of work experience for the RA. Funny enough, what my professor wrote in the letter clearly says that I did work for him for 23 months, which somehow contradicts with the university certificate.

It is so disapointed for me now, EE is so competitive and I just feel so powerless. Please kindly let me know your thoughs as I really appreciate the concern. Thank you very much and have a great long weekend.

Best,
Nghia
