Hi I am from India. Both me and my wife have been offered clinical fellowship for one year starting from July. While staying in Canada - does permanant visa has any extra benefit? should I apply for per or temporary visa. Both visas required Medicals. Per is bit expensive than temporary visa ( 150 $ as compared to 550$).Me n my wife's medical degrees have been already verified. Both have completed IELTS with 7. Shall I apply for temporary visa or per directly?

Hi friends, I filed my application in the month of December 2014 . All I know is they received my application through DHL at CIC. can someone tell me when I am likely to hear anything about my application and what next?

Any december applicants here>?

December applicants have started getting CC/ DD charged.
you will be likely to get a PER emai within 90-120 days that is somewhere in March.
best of luck

if u r planning comeback after fellowship completion then u can go 4 temp ..n if u plan 2 settle there definitely PR has a upper edge in both the cases...but m afraid PR takes long time, for current year july u should go for pr n once ur thr u can thn apply for pr

anways which speciality u both are from n which university fellowship u r going for

Does pr offer any advantage like better access to health care/ children education / difference in fee structure for university courses like masters/ research degrees or future job opportunities. Am not sure of my stay- temporary or permanant. But if there are any restrictions on temporary visa holder in terms of access to health care or Fee structure for university courses, I wud like to go for pr.anyone has any knowledge/thoughts abt it?

Hey Seniors, (in particular qasim786 & quebec2013)

You guys submitted your applications in July and August. Has there been any correspondence(i.e document updates, etc) with the LVO since then and has the 2nd line updated on your ECAS?

Good luck! :)

I just know for sure that the uni course fee for international student (including TR visa holder) is about double to that of PR/ Citizen.

Regarding job opportunities, TR will be less convenience as it own name- means visa can expire at a time. Employer would be taken back with this knowledge. At least in my own experiences, employers always prefer PR or Citizens.
Furthermore, TR means your dependent might need work permit to be able to work.

Last but not least, PR takes at least 1 year, so why don't go with TR first for now?
I agree with Orthopaedician_india suggestion on this.

Would you mind sharing some info such as which is your specialty and how to apply for that opportunities, please?
