By regular mail, sometimes it can take 30-45 days (sometimes even missing). Therefore, no one can guarantee when it will reach. ECFMG will resend the documents every 2 monthly for 3 times if they will not get the documents back within this 2 months. Contact with your institute every weekly after sending the docs by ECFMG. Best of luck.

Hello guys, one way to go around this snail mail is to open an EPIC account with ECFMG now. You first have to send Identity documents via courier. After identity document has been accepted, you will have the option of choosing courier delivery to your medical school and you can also ensure your medical school returns the documents via courier. This process took one month for me.
As soon as your EPIC account has your verified medical diploma, you just alert ECFMG and they will forward to MCC pronto. You can then forget about the snail mail version that arrives later.

1. Do we need to e-mail first to MCC to get the service? NO, This is a separate process that has nothing to do with MCC. You only inform ECFMG once your EPIC credentialing is complete that MCC has raised ECIS (your ECIS number is on physicians apply identifiers tab) on you and that those credentials are already verified by them via EPIC

2.***The photo and passport ...must have certified by an acceptable official. What kind of officials can certify I used a Notary Public, other like magistrate. EPIC instructions will give you more details.
3. If MCC has already reviewed and accepted the Medical Degree Certificate, MCC will share it with ECFMG or we need to send the document again to ECFMG? MCC has contracted ECFMG via a product called ECIS. You don't need to deal with ECFMG. This is only a quick way of beating the snail mail especially is money is not a problem and you will have use for EPIC in future as well.

Hi Everyone,

EPIC by ECFGM is a separate product which is offered by ECFMG. It is a product which allows you to verify your medical diploma and transcripts and have it stored in an electronic portfolio ready to be sent to whoever needs it, be it for USMLE, or any other Medical Authority or school, Embassy etc. So EPIC (Electronic Portfolio of International Credentials) is having ECFMG verify and store your medical information (diploma, transcripts, licenses etc) for life. It costs money.

MCC after reviewing and accepting your diploma will now send it to ECFMG, who will not send documents to your medical school via snail mail. (2 to 3 Months). If on the other hand ECFGM has already verified your credentials in the past, they will just compare what MCC has sent them to verify against what they have on your file. IF its the same credentials, they wont ask school for your details again. They will just forward your already verified credentials.

So, here is the trick! Creating an EPIC from scratch takes one month. So you create an EPIC profile today. (Costs money but your credentials may be useful again since its stored for life by ECFMG). Your EPIC verified credentials will be ready two months ahead of the process that will be instituted by MCC via the same ECFMG. They will be utilizing a service by ECFMG known as ECIS.

So follow the MCC process as has been discussed extensively here and start an EPIC process on the side as well. Especially if MCC is yet to send your documents to ECFMG. Your EPIC credentials will be verified faster because you can select courier services at every point in the process.

As soon as EPIC shows your credentials are verified, call ECFMG and tell they MCC has ECIS on you (you ECIS number will be on your profile physiciansapply identifiers tab). Tell them your credentials are ready on your EPIC account. They will forward your verified credentials to MCC.

In my case, the snail mail has not yet arrived, but I have received my ECA and sent my FSWP already!

MCC asked about the Medical Diploma and Passport's copy and the Identification form (all Certified), but I sent the transcripts too. May be, transcripts will not be required but I didn't want to take any risk. My other documents are almost ready. Thanks

dear it needs six to eight weeks from opening to accepting as per updated times

IMPORTANT: Due to a higher than normal number of documents received, please allow 6 to 8 weeks for the processing of your documents (mail opened, documents scanned, documents reviewed).

Regarding ECA, it required 21 days
