Dear Obaied,
We are all friends, so no ‘sir'ing please.
I started the process in 2013, when CIC announced the official agency (MCC) to get the credentials verified. But the ECA report was requested and issued only after CIC announced FSWP 2014.
The whole process took more than 6 months for me. It was because there were some errors in the documents I submitted.
Initially, my submitted
documents were certified by a notary public (India), someone not recognized by MCC as an acceptable certifying official.
I resubmitted my documents after certifying my documents from the Consulate of Canada. The document review was completed in 10 days and was send to ECFMG for the purpose of source verification.
I lost almost 40 days because of this error.
There were no further updates for a long time. So I contacted the MCC. They advised me to contact my college and medical council (home country).
The documents from ECFMG had already reached my college and medical council for verification. I contacted my college and paid the courier charges to avoid regular post.
I contacted the medical council twice over the phone, but said they didn't receive my documents. So I went there personally and found my documents. There was a fee to be paid in the medical council to return the verified documents to ECFMG. I paid the fees and courier charges, and they returned the documents immediately.
This mistake cost me an extra 2 months.
