Just called up CIC, an Indo-Canadian lady picked up finally at the Call center after all the IVR routing.

She said my application has been opened & is in processing - & it was received on Nov.21, 2014.

Expecting DD to be encashed shortly & hear about the PER.

Guys,

Last night I tried to call CIC and was able to speak to them and the conversation is as follows:

1. Provided last name, first name, date of birth, country of birth and the date (13th Dec 2014) of application was sent.
2. The agent informed me that she didn't find the information using my credentials as it was too early for me to contact them.
3. The ideal time to contact them is 8-10 weeks from the date of application received by them.
4. She recommended to contact CIO Office, Sydney, NS and sent me an email for the same and at last I ended the call with thank you note.

I am bit worried as they don't have any information with respect to my application. Many thoughts are reflecting to my mind such as 'what if my application was returned', 'what if the CAP has reached (mine is 2281)' etc. etc.

Also, last week I checked with my DD issuer (Thomas Cook) and was informed that it is still outstanding as of 6th Feb 2015.

Seniors/forummates, what would be my next step? should I proceed to contact CIO, Sydney, NS? Your advises are greatly appreciated....

It only means that they havent opened your file. Same cic as told to 21st nov applicant that his file is open and will be processed and told to contact mid march for the same to get the update.

I reequest you to wait until then.

Can you please share NS Sydney email id.

I called CIC call centre and found that they cannot find my application.
Does anyone from the forum had called and confirmed that application has been opened starting from 22nd Nov to 10th December.
Only two possibilities I can see, CIC started to opened 20th Nov applicant's application and has been asked to wait.

And the other reason would be either file has been lost or representative did not sent to CIC.
According to representative that my file has been received on 3rd December.
