Very true! It all depends on your officer and your luck too. One of my friends is a 2174 NOC code applicant. His application was returned due to un certified check. If CIC is biased towards 2174 applicants, they could have sent an email requesting repayment instead if sending back the application all the way to India which took around 2 months to receive.

Bickyii, on what reason the application was rejected for your friend? It will be helpful for others to know.

Besides, there's this PAFSO strike going on right now which is probably putting a damper on progress.

Hello Friends

Its been a while, Iv had things to do I cant hang out here every day like some people ;D
Any who, I'm sure you guys have noticed going all the way back to August of last year (in terms of speed sheets) that if your NOC code isn't 2174 your gonna be waiting more than 8 months friends!

All who have 2174 good for you!, its great that your applications are gonna be done in the 8 month window. But for the rest of us were gonna be looking at 13 months (which is stated on the CIC website, just to cover their ass's).

Sorry Iv gotta say it, this is BS. NOC 2174 is on the 'IN DEMAND' list for skilled workers but guys this is an FSW term. I wont be nice and say this is retarded, I'm gonna go as fare as saying its 'Demented'!.

High demand skilled jobs on the list should mean that applicants have to do FSW, which is what it was designed for. I'm sure some bright person will respond with ' But Suvan CEC is for skilled applicants too' errr I know but the CEC stream should be for skilled workers who DONT have a NOC code on 'the list'!

In affect this has screwed it up for everyone else!, now we don't get the chance to have our applications done in the 8 month window, which yes I know isn't the official processing time but we all know the trend is 8 months, come on guys.

So thanks to noc 2174, were looking at a year at least!. So guys scratch out your 8 month mark on your calendar, it aint happening!.

Sorry to offend fellow applicants with NOC 2174 but this system is getting on my nerves now.

Suvan
From where did you get this stats? Even we who applied under noc 2174 are frustrated. Me and bunch of my friends who applied in Sep/Oct 2012 have not got MR yet. Added to that we have been asked to provide roles & responsibilities letter from client, who is hesitant to give the letter due to the recent RBC/iGate issue. So if our applications gets rejected due to this then our 3+ years of canadian experience goes in vain and we are in soup. So ppl under NOC 2174 have more reasons to worry as well. So please stop whining.

My friend applied under Graduation stream with total experience of 14 months at that time in November 2012, but in first 4 months his company didn't hire him Permanently and they paid him On his own name, not on payroll. So he didn't have a T4 for 2011. He filed tax for those 4 months in 2012 on his own but Visa Officer didn't count those first 4 months experience because he was working as independent contractor at that time. So basically he was short by 2 months. We didn't know at that time that it could happen.
So he going to apply again soon..

Hi your application package was returned due to an uncertified bank check, right? And it took 2months for you to receive it because your address is in India. Did this very same scenario happen to your friend, too?

I would also note that the FSW program only reopened pretty recently, most of these dastardly applicants with NOC 2174 that are supposedly getting prioritized (and I don't believe we have anywhere near enough statistical evidence on this site and trackit alone to determine that) applied before the updated FSW program was available.
