NOC 2174 Duties

Hi Experts,

Please clarify if following duties comes under NOC 2174. or 2171, I read a post that we should be very careful on NOC duties mentioned in reference letters.

in my reference letter total 9 duties are mentioned first 5 matches with NOC 2174 and rest follows as below.
could you please guide if i can keep them or re-request employee reference letter?

1. He expertise in understanding application built on legacy technologies, with
complex architecture and migrated legacy projects towards latest technologies.

2. Analyze business requirement for completeness and organize the meetings with
the client to gather the requirements, further he provides the estimates and gets
them approved by the client.

3. Ensures that the enhancements are delivered as per the business
requirement. During this entire cycle he works with different teams i.e. database,
solution architect, server team, network team etc.

4. He is Primary support contact in canada for many critical
applications, he fills the gap between the Offshore team , and
the client. From his areas he is responsible to communicate different reporting
matrix to all the stake holders

I saw a note in note in NOC 2174 job duties progression to System Analyst (2171) is possible.

I think i am good with my Roles could somebody please share your thoughts...

To me, those 4 duties sound more like 2171, but it's not really my field.

It looks like 2171 to me but if you could work a bit more using some words/verbs from the NOC 2171 probably it would improve a great deal.
Look at the above and see my suggestions (in bold).

• Coordinate with Project Manager and Business Analyst to understand client business needs
and requirements.
• Assist in design and development of applications based on business requirements.
• Upgrade and modify applications as per business needs.
• Assist in preparing project plan and technical and functional specifications.
• Perform code reviews and recommend improvements.
• Identify and troubleshoot coding issues in a timely fashion.
• Ensure that project deliverables meet business requirements and ensure to complete project
within assigned timelines.
• Provide support in all phases of SDLC.
• Conduct end user training when needed and prepare user documentations.
• Recommend new coding techniques to ensure quality and usability.

You can verify yourself. Create a 3 columns table in Microsoft words with as many rows as there are main duties for NOC 2174.
First column will have yes or no whether Match or Not Match.
second column will say noc main duties. In this column you will list all the main duties straight from the cic website.On the third column you will have your own duties that correspond to each of the noc duties. DO NOT FORGET THE LEAD STATEMENT DUTY. On the 4 th column you will have your own explanations why you think 2nd and 3rd column match together.
you do that and include it as a letter if explanation. That will help the officer agree with your work experience claim.
If you are unable to accomplish this then the noc you chose is not the right noc.
