I'm from India and I am awaiting my IELTS result before I create my Express Entry profile. I've total 6 years of experience. I started my career as Jr. Software Engineer. Currently my designation is Sr. Software Engineer. This is my 3rd company. My question is which NOC should I choose? My duties is similar of 2174 but my title is similar of 2173. I can get reference letter from my 2 previous company and current one but they will mention my title as Software Engineer. Does this sound familiar or it can cause any problem if I choose 2174 and my title on reference letter is of similar 2173.

Thanks

Still in this dilemma, haven't received ITA yet. They say don't base on your title but rather on your duties. My title is for 2174 but my duties are for 2174, 2173, 2171.

This has been gone over many times,it's your duties that matter, not your title.

You should focus on duties. I was also confused between these 2 earlier but then went with my duties which matches 2174.

I know. But I do all the duties specified in those 3 NOCs. I just cited my case as a reply to OPs query :)

Hello,

I am a postgraduate from BC and applied for BCPNP by mentioning that my NOC code and title are 2173 and Software Developer. I got the nomination with No restrictions from BC as I am a postgraduate, and then I applied for Permanent Residency with the same NOC code, i.e., 2173, because my duties match with this code more. However, my title is Software Developer, which is actually the title of NOC 2174. In my reference letter, my Canadian employer mentioned my title as Software Developer and added the NOC code as 2173. Could someone please suggest if this is ok?
