my designation is IT ANALYST 2171

my duties as my company gave me in reference letter..

does these duties match noc code 2171.
they didnt gave much description of noc 2171 in the site..i am little bit confued..under which category should i aplly.

Why don't you ask your boss to modify reference letter ?
This is just a game with putting different words together, your boss may not care about what exactly to write in this letter

Different NOCs can be seen here, but from my experience working on the industry, yes, NOC 2171 is the right one.
Nevertheless, I would agree with Grishan1, the reference letter is the single most important document on your application. Mind what's in it, don't get one too complicated. Duties must match the NOC description and it's better not to give the CIC officers a hard time. Of course, this is only if it's possible to negotiate a new one with your boss.

From what others have said on here, don't just copy the list of duties from the NOC description, as this will look suspect. You don't need a 100% match - if the NOC description contains duties that you do perform and aren't currently in your list, get your boss to add them in, but again don't copy the wording.

I wouldn't use the same words, I'd rather take only the lines in your job descrpition that match the description in NOC 2171 or the ones that show you have an IT Consultant level. You have a 5 year college degree right? Otherwise you wouldn't be this NOC. Just to be sure, what is it exactly that you do? Presales, Support, Architect... Etc? Sounds like you are Solution Support for a manifacturer.

Yes. As long as you are not exclusively,
1. DBA
2. Web or Media Designer
3. SW designer (code)
then you fall between 2171 and 2173. Since you deal with HW we can rule out 2173. It seems that you're not Support for a manufacturer as I first thought, this web page is very helpful:

I have also applied with 2171 NOC Code,
What I see the designations and roles mentioned in 2171 are very generic to Comuputer Science.
For Example, IT Analyst or Consultant - Can work on requirements, Planning, testing, implementation, scripting, documentation, business specification etc.
If 60-70% duties matches then you are good to go. Just my opinion.

I filed for a PR under CEC in April and didnt get any medicals request. I filed my GCMS and got a reply today. It says that supporting docs does appear to match exactly no of duties for the selected NOC code or looks exact match as in given Noc.
Review required by officer, work experience does NOT meet requirements.

My job title and NOC code (2171) was carefully chosen and was signed by HR.

I haven't received any official communication though, what should I do now, please help

Here are the duties i kept in schedule 8 form. I just kept only 3 duties and i didnt attach any extra sheet to add more. I thought they will look at the reference letter provided.

What should i do now. Should i send any updated reference letter or wait until second officer review my file. Feeling tense..send me the email or address if you say me to update the reference letter. My bowp is going to expire in month of april 2014. I think i am screwed.....Please help me
