NOC 2171. CONFUSED. 2171 EXPERTS PLEASE HELP

But in NOC 2172 it suggests that you should be a databsae analyst and work with databases , implement and test data models , perform datamining etc whereas i hardly do something related to that. I am a functional analyst and i can gather requirements for the ERP tool for which i am the admin. i dont do coding and maintaining database at all.

what you suggest?

Cool. IMO you can apply under 2171. I had similar duties and I applied as well.

Looks fine for me too, I applied under 2171 and some years of my experience are very related to the ones you listed as well.

Hi,

Isnt ERP in itself an Application with common databases? So u must be either into DB analysis/maintenance or Application programming or System analysis.

In a normal IT work environment to be an NOC 2171, u must have good IT experience history and moreover a good deal of programming background too. If u think u have all that then its fine to apply under that code.

Otherwise i still think u are eligible under 2172 as it has computer systems analyst as one of the titles mentioned.

Yes i do have a programming background degree but not experience as a programmer or a database admin. I am a simply erp functional analyst who looks what end user requirements needs to be incorporated in the tool by creating a business requirement document and the rest of duties of the ERP tool admin

ERP is not a DBMS so I don't think 2172 is right for you, but there are some that will argue this... The bottom line is what do YOU feel is right for you?

If you see yourself as an IT analyst then re-word some of your duties to better emphasize the duties listed under NOC 2171.

I think 2171 is only closest.
There is one 0213 but it requires a lot of experience and u need to be manager and also the R&R are a bit similar but you need to be a manager or team leader for that.
2172 is about dbms and database people which i feel that i have not carried out in my job.
2171 is the closest as my roles and responsibilities fall closest to it but the docveri consultant is saying that it is a NOC where CIC requires you to have a little bit experience and in mycase its my first job....

To sum it up, i feel that 2171 is closest but the only con is that it is my first job but a promotion in this job makes me feel experienced in 2.8 yrs. Hope this will do What say?

Experience doesn't matter here. Your consultant is wrong.

Forget about NOC 0 (managerial) unless you're a manager. I saw lots of applicants being grilled at OINP for putting NOC 0 and then having to change their NOC and at the federal level you won't getbthe option to change.

Like I said, my suggestion is that you go with 2171 but reword your duties to better align with the duties of 2171.

Perhaps stuff like you've done proof of concept of new workflows or modules... you've defined new policies, etc.

Obviously only say things you've actually done.
