Hi Guys
want your response. What are the job prospects for Civil Engineers?
Can engineers work in Canada without certification/exams under the supervision of professional engineer?
What will be the pay of trainee/supervised engineer?
How much is the difference between a licensed engineer pay and non licensed?
What other options/careers civil engineer has if he remains unable to get license?
Your response is highly appreciated.

1. There are a lot of conflicting reports on this forum. The most reliable news I got was from a relative of mine, who said that there is an economic downturn, which will affect the job market, even for civil engineers.
2. You can work under the supervision of a P.Eng, even if you are not certified yourself. However, you cannot sign off on any work that requires the P.Eng license, nor can you call yourself and engineer, or hold that title or designation in any firm. In fact, part of the requirement of getting licenced is that you work under the supervision of a P.Eng for at least a year (that is if your foreign experience is recognized and counted toward the mandatory 4 year experience required for licencing)
3. As a trainee, you can maybe expect a salary of 45-50K a year. After licencing, your pay will depend on ability and responsibilities at work
4. If you cannot get licenced, you can look at moving into project management and financial aspects of engineering sector.
Hope this helped you out. Cheers and good luck, mate.
