I am starting this thread to network here for all NOC 2131 (Civil Engineers) applicants to share our experiences related to case submission, PER and later stages of the process.

Would encourage to be specific in your queries.

i would give about 110 days to DD of CC charge and 120 days to PER, and we hope all goes well.

It seems that NOC 2131 has got some speed in chargings, as 2 CCs of 2131 have been charged on 2 consecutive days, 11th and 12th December. Waiting for DDs turn... :\

Hi folks,
Hope someone here can answer my queries...Here goes...
I am a self employed structural and civil engineer. I have about 6 years of work experience, (all of it self employed). As such I am not able to provide references from employers. I have provided 8-10 work orders, as well as letters from a few of my former clients (most of my design work has been through verbal agreements with no written contracts). These work orders have been spread out over the last three or so years. Is this amount of supporting documentation sufficient? If not, I can try and provide a few more letters (by chasing down a few more old clients, which is a lot of legwork, which I couldn't do with the original application due to paucity of time). If I do manage to get such letters/ certifications, how do I ensure that they are attached to my application, and considered?
Any help/advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

In my opinion what is important is if you have reference letter with Job description. JD is very important, this is how cic will evaluate your case if it is matching with your NOC applied. Thus, the other documents like certificates, contracts or any letters were only a supporting documents to your reference letter. if you can get a reference letters with details such as JD, Durations, Salary/amount to your clients then this is enough. others is only a supporting documents (such as certificates, business card of clients/signatories and others to support your reference letter.).

If you cannot get a reference letter, maybe an affidavit explaining why you cannot provide plus the supporting documents, but i am not sure if this is acceptable to cic. or just try to post your querry to other thread and hopefully some seniors with experience might answer you, or give you a much better advise.

It clearly states in the document checklist that self attestation or affidavits about my duties will not be sufficient. However, all the work orders, as well as reference letters, mention the scope of work carried out by my firm and the remuneration paid for it. For example, Scope of work mentions:
"1.Structural Analysis and design of Reinforced Concrete multi-storied building in accordance with relevant IS building codes
2.Preparation and issue of structural working drawings
3.Interaction with architects and other consultants to incorporate architectural, electrical, plumbing and safety features effectively into the structure
4. Site visits to check reinforcement detailing and for quality assurance."
I have also included my own business card with my website on it, where they can see visuals of the kind of work my firm has been doing.
