I sent my application documents by FedEx which was received by Mike (Sydney, NS at CIO - Intake Office) on 5th Dec 2014.

NOC Code is 1212.

1) How soon will I get a response and what type of acknowledgement will I receive.

2) Am I likely going to make the cap?

Its time to update info, since CIC has erased all FSW 2014 info from web and now no NOC (CAP) grid are shown.

Since CIC has closed FSW14, we can only realise the present situation thru this forum.

May not be. They updates stating that processing time is only for old applications.
