Hi ,
Requesting members, who are PMP credential holder to share job hunting experience.

Thanks
MG

I am NOC 0213 but not PMP. And no job hunting experience yet because i am yet to get my papers from Canadian High Commission.

What about you, mg78? What is your status?

Hello!

PMP is a 'must have' certification if u want to get a good job quickly in any part of the world. However you must keep an eye on which field you are in. In IT, it is really necessary. If you are a JAVA EE programmer and holding a PMP, i assure you, u can get a good job.

If you need help regarding PMP. I m here to help you. Don't worry guys i m not advertising anything. All help is free of cost.

Cheers
Sherry

Hi Guys,
I am also in NOC 0213 and I landed in Aug 2011.
I am back in Inda though after 3 weeks.

FOr job hunting, I have found Linked in a very good source.
You must keep your linked in profile updated and keep on adding connections.
You can also start browsing jobs in there. It will lead you to nested job postings.
Try that.

Reg PMP, yes, Its a MUST.
I have a feeling (By seeing the job postings) that there are requirements in IT manager roles.
However, the ndustry might not be of your choice.
E.g., I am from Mobile communications industry. There are jobs in Canada in IT, but they may be of IT dept in Oil and Gas or Shppers drug mart, or transport Industry. So my take is that one should be open to this scenario as well. Dont be rigid that you want job as a PM only in your specific industry only.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Sharat Joshi
