NOC-0213 (Help Needed)

Would really appreciate, if you kindly provide your expert opinion about below as well:

My previous job role was in a R&D Center, as Project Executive - R&D as well. The experience letter from past employer contain following duties or JD:

Project Management, Formulation, Operational Consolidation

• Coordinating various R&D Center projects initiatives
• Managing R&D Center and supervising Development & Web Teams

Liaison between Industrial partners and funders

• Technical review and proposals writing / submission for funding acquisitions
• Coordination among various academic research group

Research Proposal writing and submission

• Implementation of Project proposals, business plans

I believe this matches with NOC-0213 (as a Manager - MIS may be).

Need your valuable opinion about it.

If it doesn't match with NOC-0213, which other NOC would be a close match?

Just a question about this. Is this JD in an IT company ? Also, the R&D that you are mentioning is R&D in IT area ?

This was an IT Infrastructure Company, where they established R&D Center, and I was leading that R&D center at managerial level. So yes basically, it's R&D in IT with the involvement of Business & Academic partners.

Unfortunately, I can't get another experience letter from them with detailed description. This is the only document, by which I can prove my job. And also key job as had 2.5 yrs experience there.

But, I hope this letter suffice to match with NOC-0213? If CIC office check this and match with NOC-2013, would he find close match and approve?

Would it match with NOC-0213 or if other NOC, then which one?

Kindly give your valuable remarks.

In my opinion, 0213 looks a fit.

and check the example titles as well. Be sure to click on 'view more titles' as well. That list should make you more confident.

Also, check the exclusions list at the bottom under the heading 'Classified Elsewhere'.

However, I don't feel MIS is a match for you if its IT infrastructure. That's more software related.

While selecting the NOC, the duties and responsibilities mentioned in the NOC should be a close match with the actual duties and responsibilities carried out by you at the respective job. You need not match the duties and responsibilities word by word, but the idea is to have the closest match in terms of the spirit of the duties and responsibilities (at least 60%-70% match).

Also, NOC should be selected on the basis of the match of actual duties and responsibilities carried out by you rather than the designation match in the NOC list. If you are not sure of your NOC, write to noc@workingincanada.gc.ca with your job title, duties and responsibilities and educational qualification, they will help you find the closest fit.

Thanks for sharing the link, I checked in detail the description, similar titles and exclusion list. I agree with you that MIS is not related, though in IT there are two titles: the former is 'Manager - IT Integration' - seems more like networking/infrastructure and the latter is 'Manager - IT Implementation' - seems like IT or System Integration. Nonetheless JD matches, I suppose title is not important here, as even in my Title I am 'Project Executive', but I hope they will disregard title and will match duties with provided description of NOC.

Moreover, in exclusion list, I checked the other similar category is 217 which is related to analysts, developers, or consultants, for which I believe role and level doesn't matches.

I keep my fingers crossed, and believe they would accept it under NOC 0213.

Thanks Stanlee, I really appreciate, you have always been very kind and helpful.

I believe duties matches with >70%, but I was trying to get a general perception from your expert advisory, as I have precised outlined duties in the letter, for which I was a bit worried that CIC officer will find a close match or not.

Kindly have a look and would appreciate, if you additionally provide me your judgement at generic level. Additionally, I will also email at your provided address to further confirm. I hope they reply back.
