I am planning to send NOA's (CRA Notice of Assessment) for my Citizenship application.

For people who have experience in this .. Do you think a Printouts from CRC website is enough? or should I order actual printout from CRA?

Thanks,

I don't think anybody can answer that question because nobody ever had a feedback from CIC. You can order the original ones from CRA it doesn't cost you anything. I just did today and they said they would mail them right away. She was printing them while talking to me on the phone.

This is still not a requirement so I really don't think you gain much by including NOAs.

Read Question 6F of the form. It does ask for "employment records". I guess it's up to each applicant to determine what they will submit to satisfy that requirement. T4s and/or NOA also serve as proof of employment. I

'Employment Records' include the following:

1) NOA's
2) T4's
3) Time Sheets (If Available)
4) Employment Contract

Good Luck!

Thanks all.

Why you think guys CIC has implemented this new System? I think it is good .. Do you think this will reduce the possibility of getting an RQ if someone has a clear stable Employment and Tax?

I still can't understand why would someone get an RQ if he/she has a proved employment and he/she pay taxes?

The root for the RQ problem is people committing fraud by filing taxes in Canada and not physically living here...
Thus they ask for OHIP records, pay slips, bank stmts, School records and any other documentation proving your stay in Canada.

The reason for this is that Canada does not have an exit control on all their ports of entry...Alot of people have taken advantage of this in the past, and now the CIC have caught on the issue, thus they request for CBSA reports and US Border Reports along with Stamp verifications/translation etc...

In addition to darktrader's comment:

People have been known to obtain fraudulent T4s as proof of employment. CBSA uncovered a tax fraud scheme in Vancouver which people were using to bypass residency obligations. The way it worked was - someone gives a business owner $40,000 CAD cash. The business owner then uses that money to pay them a salary as if they are working for him. At tax time, the business owner issues a T4 and that person files taxes. On the surface, it looks like someone is actually working in Canada meanwhile, they have been away the entire time.

That is why CIC will ask for a passport which starts from PR visa sticker, landing and exit/entry stamp in overseas airport for travels. CIC will take deeper look on a applicant who may have multiple passports. OHIP records is another vital proof which require physical presence. An applicant posted that after test officer asked for OHIP record.. Tax can be filed and obtain NOA from overseas.

When a particular document becomes a CIC requirement for the CIT application, it is explicitly stated in the Instruction Guide and/or the document checklist at the end of the forms. Looking at what I believe are the current version of these, NOAs are still not a requirement. There is a vague mention of copies of work records in 6F following which no details are provided in the instruction guide and checklist (only education records are listed here).

Signed contracts or payslips should suffice.

Read my comment again - I have not said it is a requirement. Each applicant can submit whatever they think satisfies what is asked for in Question 6F. As you have decided on contracts or payslips, that is fine for you. Others can go with T4s and/or NOA and that is fine too. It's not that serious.
