I wouldn't be surprised if students from punjab are profiled and subjected to stricter scrunity compared to those from other parts of the country. After all, most of scam/ sham cases they come across do originate in punjab. because of some, an entire state has to face the consequences. So it falls onto those applying to make sure you prove beyond any doubt that you do not have other motives of going to canada (it's funny though that non-genuine students who get to canada on student visa's have better chances since they get help from people who know the loopholes or how to play the system).

It used to be easier i think back when i applied when you had to go to an interview. atleast you had the chance to prove your purpose in person rather than on a piece of paper.

But i would suggest you think about it for a second, what you are going to study, how is relevant to what you have done in the past. I know there should not be limitation on what you CAN do based on what you HAVE done. But unfortunately sometimes it is not the case. although, you do have a choice of changing your programs once you get here.
