No update on myCIC application for 4 weeks...next steps?

Hi,
Had applied for a Visitor Visa for my parents with a submission confirmation on Apr 6 2016. Its 1 May today and the status on the myCIC portal still is open. With a planned travel in mid June, not sure when something will be done. With about 18 working days now since then.. am worried if this gets too late.

Is there anything which can be done or should we need to play the waiting game.

Wait. There is nothing to do, but plan for possible bad scenarios.
 
Thanks, but is there a no. or an email one can reach out to to get an update. OR do these visa's tend to get delayed always...
 
Wow...4 weeks? really? I applied on April 17th and waiting as well. Did u apply online or thru a visa office?
 
Applied online on Feb 25th. Still waiting.

Phone and email have the same information as the system does. So no point on calling them.

There is no delay, TRVs can take any amount of time from a few days to a few months.

Your application seems quite normal to fall into normal processing time.

Did you try to contact IRCC through the webform on the delay
Have you heard anything back from them on the processing.

I applied Super Visa on 9th March and am still waiting to hear back

Hi Guys,

Just received an original passport request letter. My timeline of application is as follows
April 17th - Visa Applied through VFS Abu Dhabi (biometrics given on the same day)
May 3rd - Request for original passport.

Hopefully they are requesting the passport to stamp the visa. ;)

I applied on May 11th VFS Dubai but didn't hear anything yet. It has been over 20 days now.

How did they contact you?
 
Hi Has_san,

I applied thru VFS Abu Dhabi. We requested for a three week stay. I received an email from VFS today for the passport submission. The email address was what we had put on the application form. It was a nail biting experience since we applied on paper and not online. So there were no specific updates as to what stage our application was on. I think the processing time depends on whether your documents are clear and information that you gave in the forms are clear. Your nationality might also play a role in your application. For example if u belong to XYZ country then they might need to cross check your bank statements, property ties, family ties with country XYZ which might delay the application process. Also do keep in mind that they do background checks on your travel history and criminal records. So it will take a while before they come to a decision. I would suggest that you wait till next week and then if no news by then, you should contact the embassy or VFS. If they come back to you with a response that your application is still under process, then you have to wait. No other choice. I think a tremendous amount of applications are going in what with all the summer holidays coming up which delays the application process futhur.

Thank you for your response.

I understand that the delay is just due to information verification or security checks. I am just eager cause I am married to the Canadian Citizen and she is expecting in May and my reason to travel to Canada is just for this purpose. Anyhow, I have already contacted VFS and I have sent an email to Embassy. I don't know if I did that right !!

I will try to contact Embassy next week too ... I know I just have to wait.

Yes, I did but didn't receive any updates. Also tried contacting MP with no updates this week.

I applied April 13th 2016 and still waiting...

One of my friend applied online on April 25th 2016 and received passport request on April 29 2016
